Originally from Vancouver, Canada, Robin has "come home" this year to the American School of Barcelona where he is in the first year of his second stint as Head of Admissions after having worked at schools in Belgium, Switzerland, and South Korea over the past ten years. Robin previously served as editor of - and is a regular contributor to - the International Admissions Bulletin and has presented at numerous Open Apply and other international schools conferences. Fluent in French and Spanish and proficient in Korean and Catalan, he is particularly interested in intercultural relations, third culture identities, global citizenship and guiding families from all backgrounds through the admissions funnel in a highly personalized manner. While working at ISB, he was one of the founders of the innovative "ISB Experience Room".
Robin also has a special interest in connecting local and international communities through service learning. He has been involved in engaging service learning projects in most of the schools he has worked at. He recently took a break from admissions and served as TOK teacher and CAS Coordinator at Branksome Hall Asia on Jeju Island, South Korea, successfully helping guide that school in its quest to connect meaningfully with the local community there.
Finally, Robin is a certified and experienced Council of International Schools (CIS) accreditor, having participated in numerous CIS accreditation visits (both online and on-site) to schools in Turkey, the UAE, Egypt, Colombia, and Japan, as well as having co-chaired Branksome Hall Asia's own recent CIS accreditation process.
Robin has a BA in Political Science from McGill University, a Masters in Political Science from the French language Université de Montréal, and a Diploma in Education from Simon Fraser University.
